invitation-gucciGucci found the right way to ensure the guests remember to make it in time to their Fall-Winter 2018 show that was held at the Gucci Hub in Milan on 21st February. Ahead of the show, the guests received the show invite with a timer counting down in red digital numbers. The creative director Alessandro Michele conceived the set design, which reflects the work of a designer—the act of cutting, splicing and reconstructing materials and fabrics to create a new personality and identity with them. The materials used are typical of an operating room and the environment around it. The five areas within the show venue were set up with real operating tables and surgical bed sheets, along with surgical lights, which also illuminated the runway. Check out the pictures.

The Gucci collection was inspired by the Cyborg. The Gucci Cyborg is post-human: it has eyes on its hands, faun horns, dragon’s puppies and doubling heads. It’s a biologically indefinite and culturally aware creature. The expected funk of Gucci was all there. A blend of prints, checks and solids, face masks and head gear for the Cyborg effect, Abayas and headscarves, layered dressing and all the other Alessandro effects.
