It is indeed a significant move that the two iconic fashion weeks, the Mumbai based Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) jointly organised by Lakmé & RISE Worldwide (formerly IMG Reliance), and the Delhi based Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) have joined hands to host a common Phygital Fashion Week that will take place from 16-21 March 2021.

The alliance has historic significance as in 2006, the Lakmé Fashion Week held its first show in Mumbai after a split with FDCI. In a post-pandemic world, the new positive collaborations make sense. The event will have a special “unity logo” designed to mark this occasion.

Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) will release the schedule shortly comprising the best of curation and designers from Delhi, Mumbai and across India. FDCI &Lakmé Fashion Week will jointly present the Opening Show on 16th March and will culminate with the Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale on 21st March. The event will also feature the prestigious talent discovery programme GenNext for designers as well as promote modelling talent through FDCI’s #GetNoticed Model Hunt besides other innovations. Both FDCI and LFW will continue their buyer programmes launched last season as well.
