The Orient Express restaurant at Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi is celebrating 38 years of its existence. Designed as an ode to the legendry long distance passenger train that connected Paris and Istanbul and was the epitome of luxury and intrigue, the namesake restaurant recreates the ambience of the train, with coaches, liveried servers in white gloves, European dining et al. To commemorate its anniversary, the restaurant has curated a limited edition menu that will be served through December.
The anniversary special menu features a selection of signatures such as Camembert cheese soufflé, paprika sauce; Duck Margaret, fig compote, crispy phyllo; Butterflied Champagne prawns, butter garlic sauce; Saffron-scented exotic vegetable risotto; Red wine poached Fuji apple, cinnamon ice cream; Warm chocolate pudding, liquid chocolate centre and more.
Nayan Seth, General Manager, Taj Palace, New Delhi said, “The Orient Express represents a dining experience that is truly like no other. A Rocheston Distinguished Restaurant awardee, the 38-year old culinary institution has been one of the capital’s finest and remains synonymous with luxury dining, extraordinary culinary excellence and everlasting memories. As a part of our endeavour to create distinctive experiences, I am sure that our anniversary special menu curated by Executive Chef Rajesh Wadhwa, will be lovingly cherished by our guests and patrons.”
